Road-Legal McLaren P1 LM Roaring at the Goodwood

Much carbon, more downforce and less weight – hypercars have never been more extreme! At the 2016 Goodwood FoS, the ultimate road-legal version of the McLaren P1 GTR, track-tested, was unveiled. Called the P1 LM, such a name the wildest hypercar got after the iconic F1, being the brainwork of Lanzante, Hampshire, the British company qualified uniquely in formidable outfit modifications. The road-going LM is set to hit the public highways but will be strictly limited-edition versions as Lanzante announced only 5 units would be built. Replicating the original model, four hypercars would be made in orange (it comes to Papaya Orange shade, the traditional color of the F1 LM) and one in a dark hue of grey.

Race-oriented, the 986-hp beastie is claimed to be the craziest road car fans have ever seen. The hybrid powertrain was completely retuned to deliver more downforce, so the hypercar is equipped with a hellish mixture of electric motors and a 3.8-litre Twin-turbo V8. For weight-reducing purposes (the current prototype is actually 60kg lighter), Lanzante dropped the GTR’s air jacking system. The outfitter also modified a front splitter along with a rear wing, to provide furious aerodynamics. They used much carbon, including an exposed carbon roof, too. The go-go result is ready to push its limits on the road tracks.
