The Rinspeed Oasis Concept: Is It Ideal for the City?

It seems it definitely is. A compact Oasis concept by Rinspeed is expected to hit the forthcoming next year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. A tiny futuristically-looking two-seater is already described as “a buddy of R2D2”, it is all-electric and absolutely autonomous, with a full set of self-driving abilities. The concept promises to appear a perfect vehicle for the urban areas as it can rotate on the spot with practically zero turning radius. Parking spaces? As easy as pie with it!

The rear-wheel steering provides the perfect cornering ability to the Oasis, along with its compact sizes. According to Frank Rinderknecht, Rinspeed CEO, the concept could serve not only a personal vehicle, but also as a cargo-carrying or delivery car well. The whimsical hatchback is equipped with almost sci-fi sliding doors, a special temperature-controlled rear compartment, a TV, a solar panel on the top and a huge virtual-reality windscreen. Would you dream of a really green car? The Oasis can even offer a garden space for growing flowers on the roof.
