New MINI EV Will Employ Three-Door Hardtop, Arrive in 2019

Expected to come in 2019, a pure-electric Mini Cooper version may have around 300-miles range on a single charge and will apparently use a three-door hardtop version. In such a way, BMW Group is likely going to electrify its brands’ lineups. The all-electric Mini (the production name has been known yet) is slated for 2019 to go into production.

A compact urban-focused car like the Mini Cooper is a good pick for electric powertrain. The model is planned to underpin a three-door hatchback, with the specific, old-timey Mini styling. Rivalling with Volvo, BMW Group is going to launch an iNext electric autonomous sedan, with just the same 311-miles range, for 2021 and a battery-electric X3 model for 2020, along with the all-electric Mini, assembled on the same production line. Anyway, that makes sense.
