Ford launches the long-awaited production of 2017 Escape at the Ford Louisville assembly plant. The cheesy SUV which got refreshed in powertrain and styling for the LA Auto Show is considered to meet the customers’ needs in the compact crossover segment best. Finally, the Blue Oval begins its production.

The assembly plant in Louisville, Kentucky, has been producing the Ford Escape model since 2012; it is considered to be one of the longest-standing manufacturing plants controlled by the FoMoCo. Currently, this powerful plant focuses mostly on building the Escape SUVs along with the Lincoln MKC, and little wonder. The Escape beats all the records regarding to be a crossover top-seller in the country. In 2015, the Louisville plant delivered 306,492 vehicles, mostly the aforesaid badge, which is evidence of its obvious popularity.

2017 Escape is considered to be the first lineup brainchild to boast Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. No wonder the Ford design team did best to make the model bolder and preppier having focused on the younger target audience. The compact SUV features an updated sharp exterior, the new automatic start-and-stop system, the FordPass system and two EcoBoost powertrains (it comes to a 1.5-litre EB producing 180hp alongside with a 2.0-litre EB with 245hp), mated to a six-speed standard auto transmission. The nobby model is expected to reach dealers in May, though, pricing has not still been revealed.
